Amster’s Prospect Tavern is named for Sol Amster, the founder of the Tavern and grandfather of the current owner. The Amster building was built in 1926 and operated as a grocery store until Prohibition was repealed in 1933. It is one of the oldest establishments in Bergen County and the greater New Jersey area. Referred to by many different names in the community, “Amster’s”, “Sadie’s”, “Norm’s”, or just “The Tavern”, is a place where patrons always feel at home. In 2001, The Patio was built and has since become one of the most popular outdoor dining facilities around. Please join us for lunch, dinner, or just for a drink... you’re always welcome at Amster’s!
Deb Fearon
Deb is our General Manager, with over 30 years of service in the hospitality industry. We are very lucky to have whisked her away from her previous role in Manhattan years ago, and she’s been the “matriarch” of the Amster’s Tavern family ever since. Don’t let her title fool you, as she wears way more hats than her title might indicate. She can cook anything on our menu like a five star chef, shake up a cocktail like any of the best mixologists out there, and is a true shepherd of the flock when it comes to the team and patrons here at Amster’s.
